Antique pottery teapot in the form of a mussled bear. The modelling and decoration of this piece is very strong and is a wonderful piece of folk art from the late 18th century.
The head of the bear is removable.
This piece was probably produced in the North of England or Scotland.
The pot has a certain presence and through its rather brutish exterior reveals a comical and wicked warmth.PROFILED OLYMPIA EXHIBITION CENTER FAIR JUNE 2010.
