One of the best models of hound head stirup cups produced in the late 18th and early 19th century in England.The modelling and decoration have to be seen to be believed as the rendition is so lifelike. Title : DON POTTERY BOTANICAL SET 24 PIECE

A flamboyant mixed floral hand decorated dessert service from the Don Pottery circa 1810/15 period comprising 24 pieces. A very similar service is located in the Bowes Museum Barnards Castle Yorkshire,and the National Museum of Scotland. It is suggested that this pair represent Julias Caeser (batsman) and George Parr (captain- holding ball and bat). A rare antique Staffordshire pottery bust of the famous English Methodist preacher George Whitfield. Whitfield died in 1770 at the age of 56.
