Staffordshire pottery vase and cover, strongly decorated with a yellow ground and two panels in underglaze blue and white transfer with figures of Cossacks fighting on horseback. The pedestal base is a sienna orange type marble colour with an underglaze blue and white transfer band. An added feature to this rare piece are the two rams head handles which are crisply modeled and finely decorated with enamel colours, a most unusual combination of techniques.
