Dixon and Austin Watch stand decorated in pink splash luster, Sunderland early 19th century England

A large and rare pottery version of a Sunderland Pottery watch stand in the form of a long case clock flanked by cherubs who are modeled standing by plinths. The piece decorated with excellent quality pink splash luster and enamels. The base of the group was made with two pin holes for affixing to a mantle, and this is also where the makers' mark is impressed DIXON AUSTIN & CO.
These highly decorative pieces were made to hold a gentleman's pocket watch.

Dimensions: 6.50 inch wide 11.50 inch high 3.00 inch deep

Medium: luster lustre pottery ceramic earthenware

Current Condition Excellent professional restoration at finials, petal, and hairline at clock canopy.
