English green glaze creamware bodied pottery melon tureen with exception detail. 18thc

Dated: c. 1765 to c. 1775 England

An exceptionally rare and decorative creamware bodied melon tureen and cover with a green lead glaze . The press molded relief detail of the melon with leaves and vines is of the highest quality. The piece is probably the work of Thomas Whieldon or Josiah Wedgwood, Staffordshire.

Dimensions: 7.00 inch wide 5.75 inch high 5.25 inch deep

Medium: creamware pottery earthenware ceramic

Current Condition Restored cover rim chips and hairline
