London delftware butter bowl polychrome colours and a spike at base, early 18th century England

Dated: 1720 London England

An unusual and rare English delftware pottery bowl decorated with flowers and leaves in polychrome colours. There is a one inch high spike in the base of the bowl which is thought to hold a pat of butter. The cover to this bowl maybe lacking.
Shards have been excavated by the Southward and Lambeth Archaeological Society on the site of the Vauxhall Delftworks London.

Dimensions: 6.75 inch wide 3.50 inch high 6.75 inch deep

Medium: delftware pottery earthenware ceramic tin glaze

Current Condition Cracks to body professionally and invisible repaired.
