An early example of a Staffordshire pottery mug or tankard.
The tankard is decorated with a Scratch-Blue technique the decoration bearing the name "John Harvy" and date "1753" with scrolling foliage and flowers.
This rare survivor from the mid 18th century is in unrestored condition.Examples such as this rarely enter the market these days.

Current Condition Old very feint hairline approx 1.5 inches unrestored at rim.
