A large size Staffordshire pottery pearlware figure of the Virgin Mary also known as the Madonna.
This figure has been attributed as the work of the Wood family of potters. This appealing and warming figure is exceptionally well modelled and finely decorated.This is often the case with figures of a religious nature where extra respect was given through the various production processes. The child looks up adoringly at his mother who exudes a warm tenderness for the infant.

Dimensions: 7.00 inch wide 13.00 inch high 8.00 inch deep

Medium: pottery pearlware ceramic earthenware

Current Condition Of good appearance with hairline crack restored professionally at shoulder of Madonna,infants outstreched arm and minor re-touch to enamels.
