Staffordshire pottery pearlware figures of a lion and unicorn, antique period early 19th century England

Dated: c. 1810 to 1820 Staffordshire England

A very rare pair of pearlware glaze enamel decorated figures of a lion and unicorn modeled on oblong faux marble step shaped bases with spectacular modelling and enamel color decoration. There is a hole in the unicorns head to receive the horn which is a made as a seperate removable addition. This decorative pair are of the highest quality.

Dimensions: 6.00 inch wide

Medium: pottery pearlware ceramic earthenware

Current Condition Unicorn replaced horn, left leg hairline and at neck, professionally and invisibly restored.
