Staffordshire pottery tortoise shell glazed plate commemorative of the King of Prussia 18th century

Staffordshire Whieldon type Tortoiseshell Glazed Creamware King of Prussia Plate, the shaped rim with molded border diapering between alternating portraits, eagles and cannons, and verse "Success to the King of Prussia and His Forces." The plate was made about the time of Frederick the Great's successes in the Seven Years War and his convention with England in 1756 against France. This rare commemorative is one of the best examples of its type.
