A rare masked beak pitcher from the Cockpit Hill pottery Derbyshire. The mask head is very well defined and the enamel decoration of flowers and a figure in a chinoserie manner are well executed.A classic early example of English creamware pottery. The pitcher is named and dated "Thatcher Charney Berks 1773". The Charney Berks relates to the village of Charney which was in Berkshire but now with boundaty changes is located in Oxfordshire England.
