British pottery pearlware oval box with lion recumbent on cover early 19th century

Dated: 1825 to 1830 British English or Scottish

The pottery box is oval-shaped, the base decorated with a  relief molded cartouche set in a continuous diamond pattern with ruby red dots. The green cover has a black ridged-shaped border and features a recumbent and regal lion with front paws folded. Made in England or possibly Scotland.

Dimensions: 5 inches high 5.75 inches long

Current Condition: Unrestored with a chip on the inner flange of the cover. Does not show on display.
