The deep-sided baking dish is intensely decorated with an unusual and striking comb decoration in slip. The red earthenware is lead-glazed on the decorated side, with a brown ground over which the cream-colored slip is thickly applied. The dish is very appealing and would take its place in a modern or traditional period setting.
