A pair of Staffordshire pottery figures of pipe-smoking dogs modeled with two separate legs and a curling tail. The pair is decorated with underglaze black patches and are seated on a rococo-shaped base in turquoise and ochre. This rare, highly decorative, and delightful pair are smoking pipes inspired by the famous Landseer painting, one of Queen Victoria's favorites.    

Dimensions: 8.75 inches high

Current Condition: Pipe restored, and an original firing detail on reverse of base.
