A pair of large-sized English Delftware dishes unusually decorated in red and blue with a quill (rather than a brush)of an oriental style urn with floral display in the chinoiserie fashion. This type of decoration is connected by tradition to the Wincanton Delftworks. The novel decoration has been recorded on two Bristol Museum bowls and a Colonial Williamsburg trinket box. Can also be acquired as a single.  

Diameter: 13 inches

Current Condition: Unrestored good condition in accord with age.

Provenance: Retains paper label of Alastair Sampson London.
