Dated: 1815 Staffordshire England

An exceptionally rare Staffordshire pottery pearlware glazed bocage-type figure with good enamel decoration. The feline stands on a green grassy mound, the spotted tail coiled over its back, the head is decorated with a myriad of brown and ochre dots, the cub similarly colored, crouching on a ledge below. A compelling and extraordinary figure previously unrecorded in any of the standard references.
